What did you find most challenging about the SAT?

When it came to specific sections, I had the most difficulty with reading and grammar. However, the biggest challenge for me was the accumulated frustration from preparing for the SAT for an extended period without seeing any significant improvement. Despite spending hours studying during breaks, my performance did not improve as much as I had hoped. I felt stuck in this cycle and that's when I asked my parents to find me a tutor. Even with the help of the previous place I was getting tutored, I was still not seeing the progress I wanted - until I started working with you guys.

What was the most useful thing you learned from tutoring?

For the English section of the test, I often found myself running out of time. My tutor helped me strategize by allocating more time for the passages that I tended to struggle with. Additionally, learning different reading and grammar strategies helped me categorize questions into "types," giving me a better idea of how to approach and solve them.

I was already pretty comfortable with the math section, but I found that I was losing points on silly mistakes. With the help of my tutor, I practiced ways to prevent myself from making those mistakes and also learned how to effectively review my work at the end. This helped me to finish the math section much faster while still having enough time to double check all my answers.

How would you describe the SAT class?

My tutor had me take a practice test or a practice section before every class. This helped us to identify my areas of weakness. During the session, my tutor would then focus on the topics and strategies that I struggled with the most. I never felt like we were wasting time and I always felt like the class session was tailored to help me specifically.
