About
Gemma Ruggiano is a third-year undergraduate environmental engineering student at The Georgia Institute of Technology. She is extremely interested in alternative energy systems. On campus, she exercises these interests through her involvement in the Georgia Tech ECOcar Mobility Challenge Team, which is a national competition amongst 11 other universities with a goal of converting a traditional 2019 Chevrolet Blazer into both a hybrid electric and SAE Level 2 autonomous vehicle. In the professional world, Gemma has worked extensively with the United Stated Department of Defense to develop the Navy's first fully autonomous vessel, capable of setting sail for up to 90 day missions with no human crew on board.
